Volunteers • For Teens • For Rutgers Students • Employment
Volunteers help the museum fulfill its mission to serve both university and community audiences. Volunteer activities range from those demanding dedicated commitment and pretraining, to others requiring only enthusiasm and a desire to help the Zimmerli provide enjoyable and meaningful experiences for its audiences. Volunteer activities include guiding tours as trained docents, assisting in the Museum Store, planning membership events, and providing administrative support.
To volunteer, email the Community Relations and Volunteers Office.
This program invites especially motivated high school students (grades 10–12) to become junior volunteers. Whether assisting a family with an art project, helping a classroom instructor during an art class, taking visitors on guided tours through the museum’s diverse collection, or providing aid to Summer Art Camp instructors, ZAMbassadors are an invaluable part of the museum team. ZAMbassadors are trained by the museum staff, learning about art and museum work from seasoned professionals.
To get involved, email the Community Relations and Volunteers office.
The Zimmerli offers many opportunities for Rutgers undergraduate and graduate students. To learn about them, visit Information for Rutgers Students.
