Art After Hours: First Wednesdays gives Rutgers University students and community members the opportunity to engage in a multifaceted approach to the arts on the first Wednesday of most months from 5 to 9pm. A current exhibition is central to the evening, which leads off with a curator- or docent-led tour, followed by a performance, artist talk or participatory workshop, and the opportunity to socialize. Seasonal specials in the Museum Store and refreshments at Z Café are also available.
Free to Rutgers students, faculty, staff, and Zimmerli members (with valid ID). $6 general admission.
CHILDREN'S BOOK ILLUSTRATIONS / JULY 10, 2013
This program celebrations the opening of Maples in the Mist: Chinese Poems for Children Illustrated by Jean & Mou-sien Tseng with a curator-led tour and family art activity during a specially scheduled Art After Hours. Maples in the Mist is a journey inspired by some of the most celebrated poets of the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD). The Tsengs’ vibrant illustrations enchant children—and the young at heart—with timeless insights about the world’s wonders.
The Museum Store features the final days of its Clearance Sale. Sandwiches, salads, and snacks are available for purchase in the recently reopened Z Café. A 10% discount is offered to Zimmerli members.
