Two Concert Series Return in October

The Mason Gross Extension Division and New Brunswick Chamber Orchestra present new seasons of their popular performances that invite audiences to experience classical music in new ways, while enjoying the Zimmerli's galleries.

Music at the Museum features “From Russia with Love” on October 16, from 1:30 to 3pm. Musicians from the faculty of the Extension Division perform works by Shostakovich, Hummel, Rachmaninov, and Aliabiev. The concert is preceded by a brief talk related to the performance theme and followed by a tour of museum highlights. The series is organized to present a broad repertoire accessible to audiences of all ages.

The NBCO kicks off a new season of Reframing Classical Music with “Beginnings” on October 30 at 3pm (repertoire to be announced). This salon series introduces visitors to what inspires the performers, their art, and how they do it. Orchestra members perform short, theme-based (mostly new) works mixed with tastings, wine pours, and conversation in an informal atmosphere.

Both programs are free and open to the public, but seating may be limited.
