On Campus this Summer? So Are We!

Celebrate Art Museum Day with us on May 18! The Association of Art Museum Directors organizes this annual event across North America - in concert with International Museum Day - to focus attention on the role of art museums in their communities. This year, the Zimmerli is offering complimentary copies of Zimmerli Journal. This limited edition series showcases selections from the museum’s permanent collection, with articles and full-color reproductions of artwork. Stop by the front desk to select an issue that focuses on the American and European collections, or Nonconformist Art from the Soviet Union and Russia. Visitors also are invited to share their experiences on Art Museum Day via social media, with the hashtag #ArtMuseumDay.

Save the Date! The final Art After Hours: First Tuesdays for the 2016-17 season takes place on June 6. Stop by after work or (summer) classes for curator-led tours of Toutes Les Nouvelles – All the News: Current Events in Nineteenth-Century French Prints and live music by the Ralph Bowen Trio, presented by the New Brunswick Jazz Project. Admission and activities are free. The evening also features complimentary refreshments. Please Note: Art After Hours will not take place in July or August; the program returns in September.

Join us for a day trip on June 8, with stops at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and the exhibition Georgia O'Keeffe: Living Modern at the Brooklyn Museum. Registrations must be received by May 25.

While most of the current exhibitions are on view through July 30, please note that the following close on earlier dates: Innovation and Abstraction: Women Artists and Atelier 17 (May 31); Fletcher and the Knobby Boys: Illustrations by Harry Devlin (June 25); and Atlanta Ladies Memorial Association (July 1).
